NBA 2K27 GOAT Builds

GOAT Builds are a MyPLAYER feature in NBA 2K27 that let you play as a recreation of an NBA legend or current star, with height and attributes that go past the normal MyPLAYER Builder caps. They arrive with Season 2 on October 16, 2026. Season 2 has 18 GOAT Builds: 8 are available right away in the new GOAT Builds builder path, and 10 unlock through the Season 2 rewards track, REP and Lifetime Challenges. This page lists every GOAT Build with its position and unlock requirement.

How many GOAT Builds are in NBA 2K27?

18. According to 2K's Season 2 Courtside Report, you get 8 right away, 3 on the Season 2 rewards track, 5 through REP and 2 through Lifetime Challenges. You may have seen 17 in a widely shared post, or 24 for the whole year in a pre-launch leak. Only the 18 are confirmed.

When do GOAT Builds come out?

GOAT Builds drop with NBA 2K27 Season 2 on Friday, October 16, 2026, according to the 2K Newsroom.

How do you unlock GOAT Builds in 2K27?

Eight are ready on day one in the new GOAT Builds builder path. Magic Johnson (Level 26), Dirk Nowitzki (Level 33) and Young Kobe (Level 37) are Season 2 rewards. Ray Allen and Hakeem Olajuwon unlock at REP Elite V, Derrick Rose and Michael Jordan at Elite VIII, and LeBron James at Legend I. Anthony Edwards takes 300 Lifetime Challenges and Wilt Chamberlain takes 350.

Do GOAT Builds cost VC or real money?

2K hasn't listed a VC price for GOAT Builds, so any VC numbers you see floating around are rumors. Every official unlock path is gameplay: the builder path, Season levels, REP and Lifetime Challenges. 2K also hasn't said what it costs to skip Season levels with VC, so the safe plan is to bank Season XP and REP now.

Do I need the Pro Pass for Young Kobe, Magic or Dirk?

No, the Pro Pass isn't listed as a requirement. The Courtside Report puts Magic Johnson (Level 26), Dirk Nowitzki (Level 33) and Young Kobe (Level 37) in the main Season 2 rewards. It calls the Pro Pass "40 additional levels", and none of its rewards is a GOAT Build. 2K hasn't said what skipping levels with VC costs.
